Resorts -
Kalkan & Kas

Kalkan sits on a promontory just within the Antalya province of Turkey, a couple of hours drive from Dalaman airport, and is located on a small but beautiful bay, with a very attractive harbour. Kas, however, is a short drive from Kalkan and presents itself with a different kind of ambience. Smaller than Kalkan and without the steep, winding streets it has a more relaxed feel but still has the charm of an old town area of craft shops, bars and restaurants. A new marina is planned here and the views from the hills outside the main town can be quite stunning.
Kalkan sits on a promontory just within the Antalya province of Turkey, a couple of hours drive from Dalaman airport, and is located on a small but beautiful bay, with a very attractive harbour.
The town is built on a hillside and is surrounded by hills and, although growing with new developments, Kalkan still retains an Old Town atmosphere. Through the steep walk from the harbour, there is a myriad of craft shops and quality bars and restaurants for you to enjoy as you explore the Old Kalkan and its narrow streets full of vibrancy.

A new marina is planned here and the views from the hills outside the main town can be quite stunning.
Kalkan itself is not blessed with sandy beaches, but there are small bays within easy reach for quiet bathing in crystal clear waters.
Kas, however, contains small coves and diving areas where you can dive into the cool but clear waters, which are fed by underground springs to ensure the water is forever clear.
Nearby is the beautiful beach at Patara, with its 20 kms of unspoilt sand where turtles have nested for thousands of years to lay their eggs. Because of this, and the amphitheatre, Patara is a protected area.
The famous tourist attraction of Saklikent Gorge is just one hour away, tucked into the mountains, where the spring water flows through as a river. A walk through the steep sided gorge and developing river provides an unforgettable and exhilarating experience. Sit in one of the bars and restaurants, Turkish style, and watch the river flowing through as you relax and enjoy.
Kalkan and Kas really are for the more discerning person…stunning views yet with hearts of vibrancy and Old Town feel without the rough edges. |
