 Kalkan & KasKalkan is a steep, old coastal harbour town steadily reaching into the surrounding hillsides with plenty of craft shops, jewellery shops, bars and restaurants. Kas is quietly stylish and sedate with no steep streets to negotiate but with a traditional old town and harbour fed by underground streams.

Kalkan sits on a promontory just within the Antalya province of Turkey, a couple of hours drive from Dalaman airport, and is located on a small but beautiful bay, with a very attractive harbour. Kas, however, is a short drive from Kalkan and presents itself with a different kind of ambience. Smaller than Kalkan and without the steep, winding streets it has a more relaxed feel but still has the charm of an old town area of craft shops, bars and restaurants. A new marina is planned here and the views from the hills outside the main town can be quite stunning. |
